I finally got a chance to take my daughter’s year and a half photos (albeit at 19 months)! We had a great time trying out my new backdrop and some fun pettiskirts.

Welcome to my Heather Culley Photography & Design {the blog}. I am an on location photographer in the Seattle area who photographs everything from newborns to couples and families. I have a relaxed, natural style of photography that will hopefully make your session with me a lot of fun. I finally got a chance to take my daughter’s year and a half photos (albeit at 19 months)! We had a great time trying out my new backdrop and some fun pettiskirts.

For awhile now, I have had this idea forming in my head about a personal photography project I wanted to work on. I had this idea to merge two thins I love… photography and dance. To most dancers, dance is not just something they do, it is a passion, it is their life. Dancers will dance anywhere, without caring what others think. To them, it is just who they are.
I decided to start a project to showcase dancers in everyday places (not in a dance studio) doing what they love. For this first round, I was able to get together with my cousin Kassie, and two of her friends, Sam and Alyssa. We headed downtown to the streets of Seattle for an amazing time. Hope you enjoy!
Tiffany, Eddie, and I have been friends since college and it has been so much fun to see their little family grow. First came Hayley only a few months before my daughter was born, and now they have added little Elena to the family. Hayley is already a great big sister, wanting to protect her and make sure no one holds Elena that should not be
Elena was perfect during her session. Once I got her to sleep, she just was so peaceful and happy that I was able to get a ton of amazing photographs of her in many different poses.
Hope you enjoy little miss Elena!
After a lot of thinking and checking out the different locations, I have finally decided on a winner!
Congratulations Katy (comment #5)! The Januik/Novelty Hill Winery in Woodinville looks like an amazing location with a lot of different backgrounds and textures. I will be contacting you with a certificate to use anytime this year for your complimentary session and accordian book.
Thank you to everyone else for your great location ideas. I had a really hard time deciding on the winner, but the architecture at the winery jumped out to me as something completely different from the places I have been shooting at.
