You may be wondering what your newborn should wear for his or her debut into being a model Should you choose your favorite outfit, a few outfits, the special booties that Grandma knit, or should you go more simple?

I tend to prefer a more simplistic approach to newborn photography, so it can be truly be about the precious baby.  Even their newborn skin that is often flakey is something to capture to remember those fleeting moments.

My preference is to photograph newborns completely bare, to really capture the newness and essence of those first few weeks.

A pretty diaper cover can add a little interest without taking too much away from the baby.  Adorable, tiny hats will add a fun aspect to the photos, and simple wraps or blankets can be used for swaddling to calm baby, or just provide some color.

With every newborn shoot, I bring a couple hats or headbands, a wrap or blanket for swaddling, and a variety of blankets for baby to lay on.  I love incorporating a families special belongings into the shots, so if you have a hat, headband, or blanket that you would like to us, have it ready for the photoshoot.
